Terrazzo Alla Liquirizia
Terrazzo Alla Liquirizia is a tile of 41x41cm and 1.8 cm thick and orderable from 2m2. This tile is suitable for wall and floor. Terrazzo is made of marble grains or pebbles in different colors that are pressed into colored cement or clay. Despite this treatment, we recommend protecting the tiles with Azule Vlekstop and Azule Kleurverdieper. This will make the tiles more resistant to stains and discolouration, allowing you to enjoy your terrazzo floor for longer. In addition, terrazzo tiles should only be cleaned with non-corrosive cleaning products. 
Terrazzo tiles from Designtegels are available in different colors. The finish is always the same and the longer the tile is laid the deeper and more beautiful it becomes!

Good to know
Terrazzo, also known as Granito tiles, are produced in batches. As the tile is a mixture of different marble grains and small stones, different batches may not match up perfectly. Missing marble grains may also cause small holes or irregularities on and within the surface. This is inherent to the product and the artisanal manufacturing process of these tiles.

If you look closely at the Terrazzo tiles, various irregularities may be visible. For example, a small piece of gravel may have come loose in the centre of the tile, or the edge may be slightly ragged. This may look like a manufacturing fault, but it is not. These characteristics are inherent to a handmade Terrazzo tile and should be regarded as normal.

In addition, the colour of the tile and the size and distribution of the grains or pebbles may vary slightly. This is part of the artisanal production process and cannot be fully predicted in advance. The sample or tile you see in the showroom is therefore only an indication of what you can expect.

Installation of Terrazzo tiles
Terrazzo tiles are thicker and heavier than standard tiles. Therefore, consult your tiler in advance to make sure he is aware of how best to install this product. We recommend that you use acid-free glue and grout when laying Terrazzo. Read all about installing our Terrazzo tiles in this Placing and Treatment document.

Suitable for
Terrazzo tiles can be used as floor and wall tiles and can be used both indoors and outdoors. They are ideal tiles for the home such as for the kitchen, bathroom, hall, porch and toilet. But terrazzo tiles are also perfect for restaurants, large halls and old buildings.

Ordering, delivery and shipment

Orders can be delivered to your home via our carrier. They are firmly placed on a pallet and there is minimal risk of breakage. The cost of this will be calculated based on the weight and volume and will be included in the quote, if applicable.  There is also the possibility to collect the tiles from our warehouse in Breda or from our showroom in Utrecht. Maintenance
Terrazzo tiles are easy to maintain. Weekly mopping with an acid-free agent such as green soap or with our own mopping soap. This also gives extra protection to the surface.
